Elsie

‘And I went and I washed my hands and I, mummy, and I flushed and I wiped and I went, mummy, mummy, and Alina came and it was quiet.’. Slouched and looking off-colour, Kerri-Ann half-listened to her excited 3 year-old daughter. ‘That’s nice; did you wash your hands Elsie?’, she asked exchanging surreptitious smiles with her Husband. ‘I did, I did mummy and it was quiet when it came out.’. She ran off with her curly-haired cousin Alina in tow. Soon, the sound of tap water could be heard as the two children made extra sure their hands were washed.
