Dinner

‘Please eat up your dinner darling.’ I said as I watched Elsie sliding under the table for the third time. Laughter preceded her head breaching. ‘If you don’t eat up there’ll be no dessert’. ‘I want desseeeert’, she said climbing quickly back onto her chair. ‘I’m warning your darling, if you don’t eat up right away you’ll miss out’. 'Miss out on what?’. ‘Dessert Elsie’. ‘I’m eating!’. ‘Yes, but not quickly enough. Come on darling. Would you like me to help?’. ‘That’s mine!’, Elsie said to her sister who had picked up a drawing of a person that also happened to look like a fat caterpillar. ‘I know!', she replied. ‘Elsie. Your dinner!’ I said. ‘You can’t have that because I drawed it Lola and it’s mine because I drawed it.’.
